Michelle’s Margarita Sampler Gathering

The beginning of July started out so full with the 4th of July weekend festivities. I was able to kickoff Michelle’s gathering with her sisters and close friends before the holiday so that we were ready to gather and sip on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023. Some of Michelle’s guests were visiting from California and Pennsylvania for a northwoods summer getaway, so naturally it made sense to bring everyone together while they were in town.
When I arrived at Michelle’s home, I was welcomed by her and her sisters putting together some intricate hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie platters for her guests. Once everyone arrived, we introduced ourselves, grabbed some plates, and gathered on Michelle’s covered patio- the perfect place for an intimate evening with her loved ones.
Wildthings Agave Margarita Wine
Everyone munched and mingled on the patio while I poured and served samples of ONEHOPE’s Vintner Collection California Sparkling Brut, Wildthings Agave Margarita Lime, Wildthings Agave Margarita Strawberry, individually, and finished off the collection of the evening mixing together some spritzers. We salted the rims of sampler cups too, to get the full margarita experience.

Intimate Night with Friends
Once all of the wines were sampled, guests decided to place a group order to save on shipping costs and slowly started to trickle out. Michelle closed the cloth drapes on her pergola and turned on a mini gas fireplace that she uses as a centerpiece of the table while the wind continued to make the drapes lightly dance as it began getting darker. While some remained, they shared stories of growing up together, their lives now that they’ve been more distant, and told jokes.
Cause Entrepreneur’s Experience
I was a little bit nervous about this party. I had met Michelle only once at Nikki’s event and had only a short conversation with her that night. We communicated through text messages for a few weeks leading up to the event and that eased my nerves a little bit. Overall, everyone was incredibly nice, and one of my favorite things to hear came about in conversation while we were cleaning up, “I’ve always wanted to host something like this to bring people together”.
In total, we were able to raise $56.39 to support the Northwoods Animal Shelter here in Iron River, Michigan. Michelle’s pup was a rescue and she says that supporting any animal shelter is worth it to help out our furry friends.
