Tipsy Taco & Tequila Bar: Appleton, WI

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of discovering The Tipsy Taco & Tequila Bar located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Our party of six gathered to celebrate a birthday and it was an incredible experience! Leading up to the night, I obviously got curious about where we were going (I generally don’t get out very often). I decided to look up their menu and BOY was I impressed. Being a fellow art lover, I LOVED allllll the Frida Kahlo inspiration.

Setting the Scene

From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, I was awestruck. The neon signs, the colorful murals, the floral displays, the photo OPPORTUNITIES. It was so incredibly welcoming. We met up with the rest of our party in the waiting area where some of them had cocktails and mocktails in hand. We had a short wait time and it was well worth it. The dining room was full and it was so neat to turn a corner and see something different on the walls.

Food Menu

One of the first things I noticed was the variety of options and structure of their menu, incredibly eye-appealing. I lightly skimmed their menu online, but I was impressed with the photos from other people’s reviews at that moment. From appetizers and dips to birria, burrito bowls and so many more. The creativity behind the menu is extraordinary.

Drink Menu

If you didn’t catch on from the title, this is THE PLACE to go for margaritas. So many flavors and combinations. They also have other cocktail options if tequila isn’t your preference. They even have some fun mocktails to choose from too! I will definitely be back to try more of their flavorful drinks.

Our Dinner

One of the friends of the group decided to get the table side guacamole to share with the table, which was so cool to see. They brought the avocado out in what looked like a “molcajete” (the traditional bowl for authentic guacamole). We got to choose which ingredients we added into the guacamole- cilantro, onion, tomato, jalapeno, salt, pepper, and lime juice (freshly squeezed too). And they prepared it for us right at the table.

While so many of the drinks sounded delicious, I stuck with a prickly pear frozen margarita, and for dinner I chose the Fajita Burrito Bowl. I’m generally not a huge tequila fan but the margarita was the perfect balance. AND THE FAJITA BOWL WAS HUGE. So flavorful, they had all the ingredients separated on the bowl when they brought it out. The cilantro crema was the perfect touch for the sauce lovers out there.

Know Somewhere Local I Might Like?!

Overall, I loved my experience at The Tipsy Taco & Tequila Bar. I will most definitely go back, bring friends and family, and talk about the food and atmosphere whenever I get the chance to.

Have a business, restaurant, coffee shop that came to mind while reading? Where should I check out next?
